Some random Saturdays I’m seized by the urge to just… drive. You know, no destination, just the open road and good company. My sister and I hopped in the car, pointed it towards LAX, and let the coastal highway do its thing.

Three hours later, after some seriously intense (and, let’s be real, slightly heated) discussions about, well, everything happening in the world (ahem, politics), we found ourselves at Crystal Cove State Park. And man, talk about perfect timing. Golden hour was in full swing, painting everything in that gorgeous, warm light.

I decided to try out Kodak Gold 200 for this little adventure. It was… an experience. I’m usually a Fujicolor kind of person. And honestly, Kodak Gold’s warmth was a little too warm for my taste. It felt a tad… artificial? Maybe it worked okay for the golden hour vibes, but I’m definitely sticking with my Fujicolor film for now.

But hey, even with my film preferences being what they are, Crystal Cove was absolutely stunning. The way the light hit the cliffs and the ocean was just magical. It was the perfect ending to a long, slightly chaotic, but totally worth it drive.
