Gentle Shifts

It feels like we’re all walking a path with unexpected turns lately, doesn’t it? A few steps forward, then a little slide back. I’m learning to find moments of peace within these shifts, to pause and ‘smell the roses,’ even when things feel a bit chaotic.

And through it all, I’m noticing little glimmers, those gentle nudges from the universe, that tell me I’m moving in a direction that feels right. It’s a comforting reminder, especially during times of change.

I think we’re all feeling a deep need for rest, for a moment of quiet. It’s as if we’re on a journey without a map, a feeling that’s been particularly strong since 2020. Some are finding comfort in flowing with the current, as my mom wisely suggests. Others, myself included, have a tendency to push, to strive, to try and control the path ahead.

For so long, I operated from a place of constant motion. Work, create, plan, control – it was my default setting. The idea of simply being still was foreign to me. But I’m slowly learning that sometimes, the most compassionate thing we can do for ourselves is to surrender. To find the quiet space within, so we can hear what our intuition is saying.

It’s a practice, a gentle unfolding. And I’m learning that it’s okay to slow down, to rest, to allow ourselves moments of stillness. To trust that even amidst the uncertainty, we’re being guided.
